Description
Wonderful 1915 Amackassin Club Yonkers, New York, sterling cigarette case awarded for Men's Double Tennis Tournament. The beautifully embellished front shows the entwined initials: "EHH" surrounded by scrolls and floral details. The reverse reads: "AMACKASSIN CLUB OPEN TOURNAMENT MEN'S DOUBLE WON BY E.H. HENDERSON E.H. JANES 1915". The inside of the case shows a sterling, hinged arm to contain the cigarettes. The Amackassin Club is a tennis and swimming club privately owned in Yonkers that was established in 1888 and is still open today.
