Description
This is a set of August Buermann iron spurs from circa 1910s-1920s. August Buermann Manufacturing Company was a pioneering spur maker established in Newark, New Jersey by a native German with the self-same name. The spurs have a nice engraved design on the heel bands and large sunburst-shaped rowels. They are marked with the company's maker mark, a star with "A.B." inside it.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910s-1920s.
SIZE:Approximately 6" in length by 4" in width by 1-5/8" in height at rowel (each).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Iron, leather, nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Chains, buckles.
MARKINGS:August Buermann star (with A.B. inside) maker mark.
