1880's - 90's 5 Pt. Star Stock 'Police' Badge. Great Old West Look!

Great, 1880's - 1890's, Old West "Stock" Police five point star badge. The stamped nickel badge reads: "POLICE" in black detail with nice stamped embellishments above and below. This example has a great, old west look.
These badges came out of an old collection put together by a collector from Kansas, now deceased. As the bulk of his collection was Kansas and Colorado, it can be safely assumed that these badges were indeed worn in the Old West of their particular vintage, although I do not know exactly where any were used or collected.
