ARTIFACT: Circa 1870's-80's Cast Iron Burglar Alarm Cannon. This simple device made of cast iron and wood, was set up with a black powder charge and rigged up to go off if an exterior door was opened to awake the persons inside the house and alert them to potential intruders.

VINTAGE: Circa 1870's -1880's

SIZE: Approximately 10 ??" x 3"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cast iron and wood
