ARTIFACT: This is a hardcover copy of "Chennault's Flying Tigers 1941-1945: A Commemorative History American Volunteer Group". This copy was owned by Edward Chesin, a 10th Air Force Combat Cargo Group member: his name is in gilt upon the front cover. The book was published in 1982 by the 14th Air Force Association. This volume is a collection of feature stories and personal histories of some of the men and women who served under Claire Chennault, and has several black and white wartime as well as modern color photographs. There is a six page spread of color images of all the squadron patches associated with the 14th, as well as a Roster and a separate Biographical Section with photographs and a write-up of all 14th Air Force Association members. The front endpaper has a huge Flying Tigers 14th Air Force Organization Chart arranged as a flowchart. The book is in excellent condition and has a fantastic gilt embossed bust of Chennault above a Flying Tiger..

VINTAGE: Published 1982.

SIZE: 396 pages with a few unnumbered at the back; approximately 12-3/8" in height and 9-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embossed cover, glossy paper.
