ARTIFACT:
This is a gun holster for an American Railway Express Company policeman. The holster is a nice mellow brown and has a decorative chain border design.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1910s.
SIZE:
10" in height or 4-1/2" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Leather with brass fastener.
ATTACHMENT:
Fastener with hole; leather strap on reverse.
MARKINGS:
AM RY EX CO stamped on front; 305CX 38 stamped on reverse; RHB on heads of tacks.

CONDITION:
4+ (Very Good): Holster is very displayable, but stitching has let go, and leather, although supple, is dry with a good deal of surface scuffing. there are some light cracks in the leather at the top of the flap, but nothing deep or detrimental. Again, still a very displayable piece.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
