Ca. 1950 Cuban National Police, Motorcycle section “badge” (wing??) in sterling silver with a Harley on it! The center depicts a nicely detailed motorcycle with two red enameled bolts rising from the gas tank or seat area and the outer enameled ring reads: “SECCION DE MOTOCICLETAS POLICIA NACIONAL”. The badge appears to be made in Cuba, but the word “CUBA” is covered by the pin hinge – the reverse reads: “ANTIGUA VILARDEBO Y RIERA” (RIERA obscured), “HECHO en CUBA” (CUBA obscured)
Approximately 2-1/4” x 15/16”
Nickel plated brass, enamel, sterling or coin silver
Vertical kick pin with drop in locking catch
“ANTIGUA VILARDEBO Y RIERA (RIERA obscured) HECHO en CUBA (CUBA obscured)”
This is from a foreign police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRVEJJX TRAJJX16 LAJGEX1/17
7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows moderate wear, some of the enamel details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
