ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1920s United States Navy USS Chaumont Deputy Master at Arms badge. Commissioned November 22, 1921, the Chaumont assumed transport duties for the two decades leading up to the war. She covered the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean and many ports in between. The large shield-shaped badge is in nickel on brass and has a great anchor design. The reverse of the badge has an unusual clip sued on sailor's clothing for when things got rough.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/4" in height (including length of clip) and 2-5/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel on brass.

ATTACHMENT: Unusual clip for sailor's clothing.

MARKINGS: None.
