ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare World War II United States Navy SACO (Sino-American Cooperative Organization) shoulder patch made in China. SACO was an intelligence outfit operating in tandem with the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), and was created by a 1942 treaty of the same name. Participated in by the Navy and the Marines, SACO's purpose was to learn information detrimental to the Japanese through means which included guerilla tactics. The patch was made in China, and displays a pennant bearing question marks and an anchor crossed against a Chinese sun.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-5/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.
