ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War II patch for the United States Army Air Forces 38th Fighter Squadron, 55th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. The 38th flew P-38 Lightning and P-51 Mustang aircraft, and participated at the Battle of the Bulge, the Holland invasion and the Rhine Crossing. The patch is in painted in green and orange upon leather and shows a winged tomahawk.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk-screened painted leather.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. PAJJX13 LHEJX9/13

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows some light to medium wear with some paper residue on reverse.
