ARTIFACT: This is a nice World War II grouping of a United States Army Air Forces "29th Bomb Group Combat Diary" booklet, a squadron personnel photo taken in front of a B-29 bomber, a Certificate of Appreciation for services and its original mailing envelope. All of these articles belonged to S/Sgt Frank J. Vieira, 6th Bomb Squadron, 29th Bomb Group. We believe Vieira is pictured to the left (as you look at the photo) of the officer at the center of the group shot. The mailer is postmarked 1945 and addressed to Vieira's mother or wife Mary in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The 29th carried out multiple bombing missions on Japan from the strategic location of Guam.

VINTAGE: Published circa 1945-1946

SIZE: 29 pages; approximately 10-7/8" in height and 8-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: REPRODUCED by 915 ENGR. AF H.Q. CO.; handwritten desclassification information on reverse of envelope.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces unit history collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEX92 LGEX9/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The book has some light wear and minor yellowing only; other paper is in excellent condition except for mailer, which shows wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
