ARTIFACT: This is a mid-19th Century thermometer from Peterboro, New Hampshire. This was around the time when mercury was still used in thermometers. The thermometer seems to be fairly accurate, with temperature threshold marks.

VINTAGE: Mid 19th Century

SIZE: About 13-1/4" x 1-3/8" x 7/8

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wood, brass, glass, mercury

ATTACHMENT: None

MARKINGS: "A.J. DODGE. PETERBORO N.H. BLOOD HEAT. SUMR HEAT. TEMPERATE. FREEZING."

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): There is some patina on the brass, and the wood has some gashes on the reverse.
