ARTIFACT: Early 1930's Jackie Cooper Metro Goldwyn-Mayer Studios promotional celluloid pin. The pin shows a black and white image of a young Jackie Cooper in the center and is surrounded by the words: "I AM A MEMBER OF JACKIE COOPER'S GANG". Cooper starred in Hal Roach's television series Our Gang, most notably in episodes with teacher Miss Crabtree who Cooper's character had a crush on. Jackie Cooper was the youngest actor at age 9 to receive an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie Skippy produced by Paramount. In the early 1930's Hal Roach sold Jackie Cooper's three year contract with him to MGM. During WWII Jackie served in the United States Navy and before retiring from the reserves had achieved the rank of Captain, after his death in 2011 he was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
