ARTIFACT: This is a small circa World War II grouping Office of Strategic Services Officer Thomas M. Davies. Davies attended "F" School for the OSS in Bethesda, Maryland, and is listed on the official roster. The grouping includes an OSS lapel pin by A. E. Company, Davies' dog tag, two souvenir pens, one with a China-Burma-India insignia, a Happy New Year 1943 postcard from India, a July 1943 postcard made from a photograph of Davies in Indian costume complete with a turban, and a Sojourners' Medal by Dieges & Clust. According to the message on the reverse of a postcard home to Pennsylvania, Davies was initially sent to India to work on a case in which the perpetrator was apprehended before his arrival. He was attached to the 237th Military Police Company Karachi Headquarters SOS (ZI).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II (most items).

SIZE: Pin is about ½" in diameter; other items are of various sizes.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Pin: gilt brass with enamel; paper postcards; dog tag: white metal or Monel; pens: painted wood and wire-wrapped wood; medal: gilt brass, enamel, silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: ATTACHMENTS:Lapel pin: vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch; medal: horizontal pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch, suspension ring, ribbon.

MARKINGS: A. E. CO. UTICA N.Y. on reverse of pin; DIEGES & CLUST NEW YORK on reverse of medal; KOREAN INCIDENT ARMY SOJOURNERS MT. DIABLO CAMP STONEMAN CALIF. 1954 ALSO HEROES OF 76 on cardboard medal backing.
