ARTIFACT: Interesting SS (Schutzstaffel) Prisoner of War (PW) "Trench Art" Cigarette Case from 1945. Apparently the allies set up a POW Camp at Burgau, Germany, probably using the original German facilities that were a sub-camp of nearby Dachau, the SS was Hitler's unit of elite security guards. The aluminum hinged-lid reads: "P.W CAMP 100" with "SS" emblem and "1945", "BURGAU", and "GERMANY" on the sides of the case.

VINTAGE: Circa 1945

SIZE: Approximately 3 ½" x 3"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum.
