W – Marine Bekleidungsamt Wilhelmshaven: The "Marine Clothing Office Wilhelmshaven

A WWI Imperial Prussian Naval Luftschiffmaat was a master rigger or petty officer for airships (Zeppelins/Dirigibles) within the Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine), a specialized role focusing on handling and maintaining rigid airships, part of the larger Prussian/German naval expansion under Kaiser Wilhelm II, known for its powerful surface fleet and significant U-boat force but also pioneering naval aviation and lighter-than-air craft.

VINTAGE: World War I, 1916.

SIZE: Approximately: 2-3/4 in height X 3-3/4” in width.

CONSTRUCTION: Wool Felt with cotton / silk embroidery with twill backing.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto uniform.
