ARTIFACT:
This is a Extremely Rare Circa 1900 Series II San Diego 6 Point Star Police Badge #12. The series II San Diego badge was worn from 1900 to 1905. This is definitely an early example of the series, probably 1st run (if there was more than 1 run!), with the blocked letters and nicely seriphed, LOW, number. All of the San Diego Badges came together, from a descendant of Charles L. Woods.

Circa 1900s.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-11/16" in height x 2-3/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Nicely stamped in heavy sheet nickel, with an old, period-of-use repair to the one-piece brass, saddled, pin.

Horizontal safety-style pin.
