ARTIFACT:
This is a 1930 14K Gold West Point USMA United States Military Academy Class Pin of Joseph Arthur Miller World War II CO 453rd Bombardment Group 8th Air Force.
POW info from American Air Museum in Britain: attached Image # 9 (Not included for sale)
CO of the 453rd Bomb Group. Command pilot onboard 41-28469. Hit by flak which caused them to run out of fuel on the return from bombing the target of Friedrichshafen on 18 Mar 1944, B-24H 41-28649 'Little Bryan' crashed W of Vernon/Seine after the crew baled out. Baled out. (Baled is correct spelling for jumping out of a plane)
