This is a very rare French SOP (Sopwith-Strutter) 283 / BR (Breguet: replaced Sopwith) 283 Aero Squadron Badge. The badge is a lion with beautifully detailed wings at rest guarding a propeller.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1918.
SIZE:
13/16” height and 2-11/16” width.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Lacquered brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with “C” catch.
