ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1940s fiberglass fire helmet bearing the letters PMFD (possibly for Point Mugu Fire Department). The original owner of this helmet served in the United States Navy during World War II, so the potential for this helmet to be from the Point Mugu Naval Air Station is considerable. The helmet does not have a liner and has a partial manufacturer tag inside with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania information.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940s.

SIZE: 7 3/8.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fiberglass, leather, brass.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: 7 3/8; partial tag inside.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. SHOP MDJX13 LABEX4/13 SAJJX7/16

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The helmet has seen some moderate wear; liner is not present; partial label.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
