ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1932 paperback copy of "Launch: A Lifeboat Book", by Britain's General Jack Seely. Perhaps most famous for his cavalry charge at the 1918 Battle of Moreuil Wood, Seely also was a Life-boat Service member, held several titles and acted as Britain's Secretary of State for War. The book begins with a letter penned by Edward, the Price of Wales. The cover has a great color illustration made expressly for the publication of this book.

VINTAGE: Published 1932.

SIZE: 128 pages; approximately 7-5/16" in height and 5" in width and 3/4" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: First Published October 1932 Reprinted October 1932.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a history book collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LCEX5/13 SCEX11/13

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): The book has stains to the cover and heavy wear to the spine; last blank page has been torn out and there is some separation from the spine inside back cover. Interior of book has light overall aging and no writing or stains.
