This is a handsome post-Prohibition tin sign from the Frank Jones Brewery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Frank Jones was an iconic figure, businessman and politico in the latter half of the 19th and early 20th century New Hampshire. The sign shows a red badge-shaped logo that reads FRANK JONES ALE and the motto QUALITY-BODY-FLAVOR AS OF OLD SINCE 1880. The sign is not very thick, but the shield logo is a bit raised and all lettering is recessed.
Approximately 13-7/8” diameter and 9-7/8” width.
Painted tin with cardboard backing.
This is from a breweriana collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VGEX00 LBDEX8/10 SBDEX9/11
