This is a 1951 advertising paperweight for the 75th anniversary of Eli Lilly and Company, the first pharmaceutical company to produce penicillin in mass quantities. The paperweight depicts what is probably a likeness of Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine”, along with some assistant muses.
Approximately 2-3/8” in height and 2-1/4” in width.
Three spherical feet.
This is from an advertising collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEL93 LFEX2/11 SFEX4/11
7+ (Very Fine+): The paperweight has some very small spots of wear and small areas of light tarnish.
As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
