ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1943 United States Women's Army Corps recruiting poster. The poster asks "ARE YOU A GIRL WITH A STAR-SPANGLED HEART?" A female soldier framed by a billowing American flag looks imploringly out for any like-minded "girls". The image is signed by the artist, Bradshaw Crandell, whose advertising art was widely published as early as the 1920's and very recognizable. The bottom of the recruiting poster reads: "JOIN THE WAC NOW!", "THOUSANDS OF ARMY JOBS NEED FILLING", "WOMEN'S ARMY CORPS UNITED STATES ARMY"

Approximately 35-3/8" in height by 25" in width (not including foam board)
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
This poster is shrink-wrapped to a piece of foam board. It will be shipped unwrapped and rolled without the foam board, unless arrangements are made for pick-up or special shipping to preserve the shrink wrap mounting.

This is from a US Women's Army Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJR05 LDBEX8/16 SDBEX04/30/21
CONDITION:
7+ (Very Fine+): The poster shows minor to moderate wear mostly at creases from being folded, light soiling, a few pushpin holes in the top corners, one very small "hole" from repeated folding (see photo below), colors remain bright, overall very fine condition.
