ARTIFACT: Early 1970's ASA (Army Security Agency) 8th Radio Research Field Station Mortar Platoon pocket patch. This Saigon-made example shows a mortar in the center with the word: "HELL" embroidered in red detail. The olive drab patch reads: "8TH RRFS MORTAR PLT." across the top, "81MM HIGH ANGLE" in the center surrounding the white mortar and the bottom reads: "TRAI BAC STATION POWER AND LIGHT CO." which was the pseudonym for the 8th RRFS Mortar platoon.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1970's.

SIZE: Approximately 5" in height x 4-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered twill, silk/polyester threads.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto uniform.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAX16 LIEX9/16 SIEX11/21

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The patch shows minor wear and light soiling, colors remain bright, overall excellent condition.
