This is a large “commando” style fighting knife made by Western and used by the United States military.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
15-3/8” length and 2-1/2” width (sheath).
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Steel and wood with stitched leather sheath.
ATTACHMENT:
Leather strip to hold knife in sheath (half of snap is missing).
MARKINGS:
WESTERN PAT’D.
