ARTIFACT:
Extremely rare WWII United States Army Paratrooper badge by Norsid. The paratrooper badge is sterling silver and shows two wings furled tightly about a balloon. Norsid was notorious for having stress cracks and other issues with their insignia. Faulty dies, or faulty materials, I am not sure. This example shows only the slightest of die wear which does not detract from the beautiful, near mint condition of the badge.
VINTAGE:
Circa WWII.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-1/2" in length x 7/8" in height.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:
NORSID CO.
N.Y.
ST... only partial Sterling stamp.
