This is Christmas card from 1944 written home from a member of the United States Army 29th Infantry Division in Germany. The card was printed in-theatre with a rather somber scene of destruction on it and reads THE 29TH INFANTRY DIVISION, ON ITS WAY THROUGH THE SIEGFRIED LINE, WISHES YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS 29 LET’S GO. The inside has a note to “Mother & Father” from “Your Son, Ross” with hopes that they will be reunited the following Christmas. Hopefully they were.
Approximately 4-7/8" in height and 3-9/16” in width.
Written note inside.
This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEX08 LAEJX5/11
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The card is only lightly yellowed with age and has no rips or stains.
As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
