ARTIFACT:
Rare, circa 1940 Slovak Hlinka Guard Leader's Buckle in bronze with remnants of undress leather belt. The guard was the Hlinka party's military arm for internal security. The Guard provided paramilitary training, and safeguarding of internal security to counterbalance the army and the police. In 1941 many of the Hlinka Guard were trained in SS camps in Germany. In 1942, the Hlinka Guard headed deportations of Slovak Jews to Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz. .

SIZE:
4-1/4" x 2" and approximately 8-1/2" long with leather belt pieces.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Bronze and leather.

Loops for belt attachment.

9- (Excellent+): Buckle shows hardly any wear and bronze is in exceptional condition with a few spots of tarnish on reverse.
