This is a rare United States Maritime Service chief petty officer cap badge. The badge has an overall shape of two crossed anchors in an X formation and shows a crest at center reading UNITED STATES MARITIME SERVICE.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
1-9/16” height and 1-5/8” width.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Sterling silver with red enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Single screw pin with disc backing and two stabilizing pins.
MARKINGS:
STERLING CORO.
