This is a wonderful circa 1890s “Reward of Genius” medal made by C. G. Braxmar of New York. It was presented by an unscrupulous Washington, D.C. patent attorney, John Wedderburn & Company. A medallion with a scalloped border hangs from a ribbon bar reading REWARD OF GENIUS.
Approximately 2” in height and 1-5/8” in width.
Gold-plated sterling silver.
Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.
