ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa World War I hat or shoulder badge for the St. John Ambulance Brigade, a British organization that has links to the age-old Order of St. John. The patch is in silk, wool, bullion, paper and wire, and shows the Maltese Cross at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool, silk, bullion, paper and wire.
