This is a circa 1930 member wing pin for the Sky Roads Flying Club. Skyroads was a cartoon penned by two World War I pilots that debuted in 1929, and the flying club grew out of the strip’s popularity the next year. The wing has a gold maple leaf charm hanging below it.
Approximately 1-1/4” in width and 1-1/16” in height.
Nickel- and gold-plated brass.
Horizontal safety-style pin, suspension loop.
JOHN F. DILLE COMPANY CHICAGO; on back of maple leaf; JOHN F. DILLE on back of wing.
This is from a civil aviation collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX12 LHEX7/12
