ARTIFACT: Rare 1920's - WWII Japanese Army Officer sword with Family Crest (mon) in silver. The grip is ornately embellished brass with a painted wooden handle wrapped in brass wire with a silver flower family crest embellishment and the underside shows "SA" engraved on the guard; the sheath is plated steel with two rings.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's – WWII.

SIZE: Approximately Total length: 38-1/2"; Grip: 5" x 2-3/4"; Blade: 27-3/8" x 3/4"; Sheath: 33-1/2" x 1-1/16".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, steel, plated steel, leather, brass wire.

ATTACHMENT: Sheath with two rings.

MARKINGS: "SA" underside of guard

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Japanese militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAFJX16 LCGEX5/16 SCEJX10/01/19

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The sword shows moderate wear, a small dent in the scabbard (between the rings) that does detract, moderate oxidation, some of the painted and plated details remain intact.
