ARTIFACT: Cool 1930's Allis Chalmers West Allis, Wisconsin worker employee badge by Whitehead & Hoag, New Jersey. The octagonal shaped badge reads "ALLIS CHALMERS" in embossed lettering along the top and below "5 2714 W.A. Workers" on a small orange label under celluloid. The base of the badge depicts the company logo with the letters: "AC" in the center. The 1930's was a great time for Chalmers with the acquisition of companies crushed by the Great Depression and new models and parts that were to become industry standards, including the invention of pneumatic rubber tires for tractors. Also during the 1930's, Allis Chalmers, along with fourteen other companies, were significant influences on the Supreme Court ruling that changed union practices for contractors, ending many that violated of the Sherman Antitrust Act.

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine—Very Fine): Badge shows moderate to heavy wear, tiny areas of painted details remain intact, celluloid is clear with no visible cracking.
