SUBJECT:
This is a nicely marked DRL member stick pin with an eagle bearing a swastika, which became the DRL's insignia after the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Started in 1934, the Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (DRL) was the group which would grow to govern all sports in the Third Reich, as well as cultivating a sense of physical and national superiority.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1936-1945.
SIZE:
2-3/16” length and 5/8” width.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Nickel-plated brass.
