ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1860s or 1870s fireman's salvage bag. The bag is hand-lettered with the words "Jacob Rubert No. 2 A.D. 1860", and comes from an unfortunately unknown fire company. It is a huge bag and one can only imagine the types of materials it has carried over the years. The material is a soft woven linen or cotton made at a mill.

VINTAGE: Circa 1860s-1870s.

SIZE: Approximately 50-1/2" x 21-1/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Soft woven linen or cotton, twine drawstring.

ATTACHMENT: Drawstring.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an early fire and rescue gear collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay06/12/19 MAHJX13 LFGEX12/13

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The bag has some areas of yellowing/discoloration near the bottom but is in otherwise very fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
