
ARTIFACT:
This is a beautiful and diminutive British Naval bosun’s whistle from the Victorian era. The whistle was made by Hilliard & Thomason, a Birmingham silversmith, and is date-marked for 1880-1881. The whistle has a small chain and some nice engraving on the sides.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1880-1881.
SIZE:
Approximately 3-9/16” in length and 7/8” in height and 3/4” in width.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Silver.

Chain.
MARKINGS:
H&T (Hilliard & Thomason) maker mark; four marks, including date stamp for 1880-1881.
