ARTIFACT: Mexican Border War Service Medal for Nebraskan National Guard. The medal pinback reads: "FROM THE STATE OF NEBRASKA" and the center of the suspended planchet shows an eagle, wings spread clutching a shield that reads: "MEXICAN BORDER SERVICE" with a garland of oak leaves beneath. The outer edge of the medal reads: "NEBRASKA NATIONAL GUARD" in embossed lettering with a small raised five point star at the bottom center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's

SIZE: Approximately Pinback: 1-5/8" x 5/8"; Planchet: 3" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cooper

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with 'C' type catch

MARKINGS: "RYAN JLY. CO. OMAHA NEBR"

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The medal shows minor to moderate wear, oxidation to reverse, overall handsome patina.
