SUBJECT:
This is an ancient Roman horse bit in bronze that was excavated in modern times. The bit has a simple interlocking design that resembles two joined skeleton key heads.
VINTAGE:
Circa Roman Empire.
SIZE:
Approximately 7-3/4” in length and 2-1/4” in width and 1” in thickness (at juncture).
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Bronze.
ATTACHMENT:
Interlocking looped bits.
MARKINGS:
ID number painted on.
