This is an ancient Roman horse bit in bronze that was excavated in modern times. The bit has a simple interlocking design that resembles two joined skeleton key heads.
Circa Roman Empire.
Approximately 7-3/4” in length and 2-1/4” in width and 1” in thickness (at juncture).
Interlocking looped bits.
ID number painted on.
This is from a European antiquities collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX07 LCJJX5/11
6- (Fine): The bit is understandably weathered and heavily tarnished due to its age and long exposure to soil.
As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
