ARTIFACT:
This is a jacket patch from the Korean War period for the United States Air Force 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron. The 67th had been the 67th Fighter Squadron, aka the "Fighting Cocks", up until its redesignation to Fighter Bomber Squadron in 1950. The patch is Japanese-made in a stylized "Disney" design and shows a rooster suited up for a boxing match in vibrant colors..
VINTAGE:
Circa Korean War period.
SIZE:
Approximately 5-1/16" in height and 3-7/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Wool felt embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, muslin backing.
