SUBJECT:
This is a World War I United States aviator necklace locket. The front shows a winged shield bearing US above a propeller and below a star. The locket is rectangular and has a striped pattern running along it, front and back. The inside has a plate with a rectangular opening for inserting a photograph.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:
1-13/16” length and 1-1/4” width and ¼” depth.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Chain link; hinge.
MARKINGS:
SOB CO. in two different spots inside locket.
