ARTIFACT: This is a 1944 copy of the British edition of "Target Germany: the U.S. Army Air Forces' Official Story of the VIII Bomber Command's First Year over Europe". This book is full of action photographs: the first photo showing twin missiles is an image of one of the first daylight raids carried out by the USAAF against U-boat bases on French soil, this one just off of Ile-St.-Michel in France. (info credited to uboatarchive.net). The last two pages show some cool shots of nose art. This was published at His Majesty's Stationery Office at London.

VINTAGE: Published 1944.

SIZE: 119 pages plus 2 pages of nose art; approximately 9" in height and 7-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Card stock cover, newsprint paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: (British Edition) LONDON: HIS MAJESTY'S STATIONERY OFFICE 1944.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces' unit history collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX97 LFEX9/13

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): The booklet has moderate wear to the cover and spine (gaps around staples but book is still intact, except for pp. 55-58, which have become detached, but are still present); minor yellowing inside.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
