ARTIFACT:
This is a very rare World War I photo unit history of the United States Air Service 113th Squadron Aero Engineers, one of the famous WWI "e;Spruce Squadrons"e; that operated in the American Northwest producing the needed lumber for Aircraft Production for the US Air Service and other branches of the Armed Forces. At the time the "largest squadron in the world", the 113th achieved an incredible amount of construction in their brief six months together at Vancouver Barracks in Washington State. They were never sent overseas. The history was published circa 1919 and has a roster. The center of the book contain a great panoramic group shot that takes up a few pages: someone was eager to display the photo as a whole and removed just these pages from their binding, although they are still present. There is a great Deco scene on the spruce green cover.

This is from a WWI United States Air Service unit history collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. MICX14 LBGEX5/147 (Very Fine): The book has some light aging and a few minor stains, some creasing to cover. The central pages were removed to display the panorama photograph inside.
