This is a stunning, large and heavy sterling silver and enamel Martin B-26 “Marauder” bomber aircraft badge from World War II. Dubbed the “Widowmaker” due to its high accident rate, the Marauder was made by the Glenn L. Martin Company and was pulled from service before the United States Air Force was established in 1947. The badge was most likely presented from the factory.
Circa World War II.
Approximately 1-3/8” in height and 2-1/2” in width.
Sterling silver and enamel.
Diagonal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX09 LBDEX9/11
7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some small spots of wear and tarnish and all enamel is intact.
As with all my items, this piece is guaranteed original.
