ARTIFACT: This is a nice circa 1920's Phillips Exeter Academy soup bowl made by Cauldron Hotel China Co. On the rim of the bowl is a wonderful floral pattern and at the top is the Phillips Exeter Academy crest. In the middle of the bowl is a small oval scene, with Latin words for "Nov. Ban 1781 Stamped Phillips Exeter Academy" around the oval, and the words "Xapiti Oeot (Grace Atheists)" and "Finis Origine Pendet (The end depends upon the beginning)" in the oval

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's

SIZE: Approximately 9" in diameter and 1" tall

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped and Glazed Porcelain

MARKINGS: Obverse: "PHILLIPS. NOV HAV 1781 SIGILL PHILLIP EXIESIS ACADEMIAE. XAPITI OEOI. FINIS ORIGINE PENDIT. Reverse: "ENGLAND. CAULDON HOTEL CHINA."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a China and Pottery collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEX17 LFJX03/17

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The maker stamp on the back is a bit faded and some of the detail on the obverse is also faded, otherwise the bowl is in Very Fine + condition
