This is a wonderful 1880’s Volunteer Life Savings Corps of New York Captain’s suspension badge. The bottom pendant is in hollow construction. It is likely made of silver, but it is just as likely to be silver plated brass or nickel. This badge has exquisite construction and a hand engraved rank.
Approximately 2-1/2” x 1-1/4”
Possibly silver, maybe silver plated brass/nickel
Horizontal pin with over-under catch.
This is from a Volunteer collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEJX17 LEIEX03/17
