ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare World War II US Army 701st Tand Destroyer Battalion 1943 Christman Card that was printed overseas while the battalion was stationed in Italy. The 701st Tank Destroyer Battalion was activated out of Fort Knox, Kentucky, and had been a part of the North African campaign before moving on to Italian soil. The battalion took part in the invasion of Rome, and the subsequent push to Florence afterwards. The Christmas card has a "V"for Victory on the front and reads "V 701ST T. D. BN." and a nicely worded note on the inside from the sender; "CHRISTMAN 1943. IN FREEDOM'S FIGHT, FOLLOW HEAVEN'S LIGHT. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE GIRL WHO JUST TO KNOW, IS A MERRY CHRISTMAS. LOVE.".

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Light taring at the botton of the opening crease, and the top-left corner is bent, as well as a pinhole on the top of the inside right of the card.
