ARTIFACT:
Beautiful WWI YMCA Christmas Card showing two Dutch children, a boy with a United States flag and a girl with a Santa Claus doll cradled inside a Doughboy helmet and reads: "CHRISTMAS GREETINGS", artwork by "Anita Parkhurst". The card is inscribed on the reverse from the 151st Field Artillery Brigade soldier, L. Roy Mann to his son, and eventual WWII Tech Sergeant with the United States Army Air Forces 319th Depot Repair Squadron. The inscription reads: "St. Mihiel France Dec. 13 Ð 18 To Eliot Love from xxxxPa." Known as the Rainbow Division, 26 states and Washington, D.C. provided units for the division commanded by Col. George E. Leach - the 151st served in France from October 1917 to November 1918.
