ARTIFACT:
This is a great World War II Zippo lighter with the United States Navy WAVES anchor and propeller insignia applied upon the front. The WAVES, or the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, were the first women to serve in the army as a division of the US Navy. The lighter is in gold-plated steel. The top and bottom surfaces are slightly rounded.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-1/4" height and 1-3/16" width and 1/2" in thickness.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gold-plated steel.
ATTACHMENT:
Hinge.
